The pictures I've compiled are related in two ways: one is pretty obvious, and the other is, I hope, not quite as obvious. All ten photos are from well known wars that the United States was involved in. The reason I chose this category for my basis of searching for photos was because I've always felt that war time photography is always very good, seeing as no one ever wants to lose it. I think the people who document wars are really trying to capture something that no one who wasn't there can truly understand, something that you could never grasp from a photograph. And because of that, I think they try even harder just to get to that level, and their hard work results in some fantastic shots.
The discreet way that all of the following photos are linked is that in the entire collection, almost no faces are shown.
World War I
Blitz of London - World War II
D-Day - World War II
Nagasaki A-Bomb Aftermath - World War II
Korean War
Marines at Inchon Landing - Korean War
Vietnam War
Vietnam War
War in Afghanistan
Operation Iraqi Freedom
